Reykjanesbraut, Strandaheiði - Njarðvík
Expansion of a 24 km long two-lane road to a 4-lane road, intersections, culverts, roundabouts and bridges.
The project included construction of two lanes next to an existing two-lane highway that lies between Reykjavik and Keflavik in south Iceland, connecting the Icelandic International Airport to Reykjavik. The road is 24 km long and is located in a lava based area. The project includes 3, 20 m long road bridges and connections to existing roads, 6 roundabouts, one concrete culvert for horse traffic and retaining walls of lava rock. Client: The Icelandic Road Administration.
