132 kV Transmission Lines and substations Trondelag Norway
Preparation of tender documents for two substations and voltage increase two 66 kV lines for NTE Nett in the North-Trøndelag in Norway. The project was linked to the planned expansion of the existing 39 MW wind farm owned by Sarpeta Energi on Ytre Vikna Island.
Mannvit's role in the project consisted in preparation of tender documents for two 132 kV high-voltage lines and two 132 kV substations:
High voltage lines: The project consist in design and updating of 66 kV high voltage lines up to 132 kV. On the one hand a 29 km line between the substations in Rørvik and Årsandøy. On other hand a 37 km line from Årsandaøy to Kolsvik. The project includes the preparation of tender documents, layout of the line, selection of mast types, -fundaments, -conductors and the insulators and preparation of cost estimate. The buyer was NTE Nett.
Substation Årsandøy: Modification of an AIS substation from 132/66/22 kV substation to 132/22 kV substation. The substation before modification consists of 1 132 kV fields, 3 66 kV fields and 5 22 kV fields.
The following changes will be made of the substation:
- New 25 MVA 132/66 kV together with a zero-point coil be installed. The transformer will replace two existing transformers ie. 70 MVA 132/66 kV and 15 MVA 66/22 kV.
- A new 132 kV SVC (static VAR compensator) will be installed in the substation.
- The existing 132 kV AIS part of the substation will be expanded by 3 bays and after the expansion the substation consist of 4 132 kV bays.
- All necessary changes on control and protection as well as auxiliary systems.
Rørvik substation: Modification of AIS substation from 66/22 kV substation to 132/66/22 kV substation. The substation before modification consists of 5 66 kV bays and 9 22 kV bays.
The following changes will be made to the substation:
- New 25 MVA 132/66 kV transformer together with a zero-point coil will be installed.
- Two new transformer bays i.e. one 132 kV bay and 66 kV bay will be installed.
- Upgrading of two bays from 66 kV to 132 kV.
- All necessary changes on control and protection as well as auxiliary systems.

Substations and voltageNTE was established in 1919 to serve a region of the North-Trøndelag in Norway. NTE started first hydro power plant in 1923. In 2005, NTE was divided into NTE Energi AS and NTE Nett AS. Today, NTE Nett is responsible for the transmission and distribution of electricity in its area. NTE operates under a concession and is subject to the official supervision of NVE (Norwegian Water and Energy Directorate).
