WGC 2020+1 - Performance of GPP Plant During Varying Grid Situations

Join us for "Theistareykir Geothermal Power Plant, Performance of the Plant During Varying Grid Situations," presentation at the World Geothermal Congress (WGC) 2020+1 June 15th at 4 PM (UTC). The paper explores the challenges for the grid operator Landsnet in operating Landsvirkjun’s new 2x45 MWe geothermal powerplant at Theistareykir in North East Iceland. Geothermal power plants in Iceland are generally run as base load but this paper discusses its potential to contribute to grid stability and flexibility in power balancing services of the electrical grid.
