Hotel and Apartments at Harpa Conference Center
Construction of a new 5 star hotel next to Harpa, Iceland‘s National Concert and Conference Center, located at the Reykjavik waterfront and the surrounding residential plot will commence this year. Construction will be completed in early 2017 with the total project cost estimated at approximately 14 billion ISK. The hotel will have just over 250 rooms, as well as shops and 90 apartments in the five buildings to be erected next to the hotel.
National newspaper Morgunbladid interviewed Tryggvi Jónsson, Director of Infrastructure at Mannvit, Bala Kamallakharan, investor and Asgeir Asgeirsson, architect at architectural firm T-Ark, over the progress of the project, how it got started and outlook for the future.
