
Corporate Governance Recognition
Mannvit has received a recognition for Excellence in Corporate Governance. The recognition was awarded by the Center for Corporate Governance on August 26th. Mr. Sigurdur Sigurjonsson, Chairman of Mannvit, and Mr. Gunnar Herbertsson, Vice-Chairman of Mannvit accepted the recognition along with sixteen other companies awarded this year. This recognition further strengthens one of the core values of Mannvit, which is trust. To reflect that, Mannvit has published its annual report online for the past 14 years. The companies awarded have followed a guideline and undergone a special audit by KPMG. The guidelines are created by Nasdaq Iceland, the Iceland Chamber of Commerce and SA-Business Iceland (Organization for Icelandic businesses).
The recognition is awarded to encourage discussion and actions towards better corporate governance and to provide companies a formal evaluation of their actions towards better governance. The goal of the award is to increase the trustworthiness and transparency of corporate governance towards their shareholders and other stakeholders.
