Geothermal consultancy in Chile for the World Bank
The World Bank made an agreement with Mannvit to consult on geothermal energy on behalf of Chile’s Ministry of Energy. The consultancy revolved around mapping out the main barriers to utilising geothermal energy in Chile and the experience of other nations in this regard, as well as looking into the expenses of geothermal drilling and the possibilities of founding a state-owned drilling company. The project was carried out in collaboration with Fundación Chile and Chilean consultants.

“The main challenge in this project revolved around communications. To begin with, there were many different stakeholders involved in the project, and second, much of the work was conducted in Spanish. It was interesting to get to know the challenges that Chile faces regarding the utilisation of geothermal energy. We hope that the International Bank will come to Mannvit with other similar projects in the future, as they are well suited to the geothermal experts within the company.”
