The
Centre provides services to clients worldwide in order to mitigate AAR
in new concrete, and for existing structures we provide: structural
assessment, recommendations for problem remediation, and monitoring and
management of diagnosed structures. We are determined to provide
concrete-based solutions for durable structures for the future.
Services from the centre are performed in close cooperation with our
international group of experts and it is our goal to continue building
upon this teamwork to combat deleterious AAR in concrete.
Research and Standardisation
The Centre will aim at promoting collaborations and at networking to
maximize the benefits of the research and development efforts of our
team of experts as well as continue our participation in international
standardisation committees in order to improve the universality of new
test methods.
Testing of aggregates and concrete mixes
The Centre promotes advanced and innovative solutions for the design
and production of non alkali-reactive concrete. Also, by providing
testing of aggregates, cementious binders and concrete mixes by
improved concrete prism methods, we have enabled performance testing of
real concrete mixes. This allows for evaluation of various mitigation
measurements, including reactivity of aggregates, use of pozzolanic
admixtures, etc.
Consultation regarding existing structures – Laboratory testing
The Centre provides structural assessment, and recommends remedial
work, monitoring and managements of diagnosed structures.
Education and knowledge exchange
We want to increase knowledge exchange by providing specific courses
for the industry, facilitate knowledge exchange through education
activities, codes and standards, workshops and conferences, manuals and
other documents. It is our ambition to facilitating technology transfer
and acting as liaison for societies and associations on a global basis.
We also believe it is important to identify infrastructure, industry
and research needs and facilitate mechanisms to address these needs.
