Green Data Centers
Mannvit Engineering of Iceland was contracted to design the new 40,000 m² Verne Global data center complex (KEF001) located at the former US Naval Air Station near the Keflavik International Airport. This new green data is set to be completed in late 2009.
Building data centers in Iceland holds many financial, strategic and environmental advantages: minimal or no cooling costs due to Iceland's year-round low ambient temperatures, inexpensive, reliable and abundant electricity derived entirely from renewable resources, a highly educated workforce. Four high-throughput fiber optic submarine cables connect Iceland with Europe and USA.
For companies looking to outsource green IT data centers, Iceland is becoming a country of serious interest and Mannvit Engineering has the know-how, size and experience to assist in all facets of data center design and construction.
