Geothermal Feasibility Studies
Geothermal resource evaluation and appraisal for feasibility studies
The Mannvit team is experienced in geothermal resource evaluations for feasibility studies. If requested, the Mannvit team can provide the entire feasibility study for the project and/or the project management for the project development.
The evaluations requested at various stages of the project development vary with available data, surveys and access to the site. An appraisal for the preliminary study of one site can be a desk analysis with early stage volumetric reservoir estimates. An appraisal for the pre-feasibility study requires surveying or access to survey data. If reporting in a standardized format is required for a Bankable Feasibility Study an assessment according to the Geothermal Reporting Code is recommended.
Mannvit's first recommendation to the project developer is to always to consider the purpose of the study i.e., the requirements set forth by the governing entity of the project such as private or public funding source or board of directors and then choose the optimal approach for the project. Mannvit offers consulting services for the project planning process for both electricity generation and direct use.
Project example:
In 2010, Mannvit prepared a study for Davenport Power, LLC according to the Geothermal Reporting Code. Davenport used the study for an evaluation of the project feasibility.
