Geological mapping of structure, stratigraphy and thermal manifestations
Geological mapping is an important factor in the geothermal prospect investigation during the phase of geothermal energy exploration. Geological mapping includes detailed mapping of the main stratigraphical, structural, hydrothermal features and surface manifestations on the surface of an area of interest.

Based on the map of the surface, including geological structure and stratigraphy, the existence of an underlying geothermal reservoir can be evaluated. Furthermore, the extent and nature of thermal manifestations can provide valuable information that in turn aids the reservoir assessment.
