Conceptual modeling
In conceptual modeling, the Mannvit team lays down the concept of the geothermal reservoir based upon available information, such as general geology and geological structure, temperature, alteration, geochemistry, resistivity and surface activity, and creates schematic figures representing the nature of the reservoir nature and its characteristics.

Project example:
In 2008, the Mannvit team managed a conceptual and resource assessment project, in cooperation with Iceland GeoSurvey, for the Theistareykir high-temperature geothermal field in North Iceland, for the geothermal development company Theistareykir. All relevant data including, surface geology, resistivity measurement, geochemistry, surface manifestations, subsurface geology, temperature profiles and well tests, were used to develop a conceptual model of the geothermal system. The conceptual model was then used as a basis for a volumetric resource assessment with Monte Carlo application.
