Mannvit Engineering is a company dedicated to renewable energy development and other environmentally-friendly industrial processes. Due to the company’s origins and experience in Iceland’s extensive development of renewable energies, Mannvit occupies a unique and important position as the world turns its attention toward alternative energy sources and the need for experienced renewable energy consultants increases.

The Company offers comprehensive consulting, design and management services in all areas of geothermal and hydroelectric energy, and has participated in the development of most of the power plants built in Iceland over the past four decades. Services range from research and other preliminary work to complete design, construction, maintenance and supervision. Another area of interest is the company’s work and innovations in the production of methane gas from the decomposition of landfill waste.

Specialists at Mannvit are pioneers in the utilization of geothermal reservoirs to produce electricity, both in harnessing high-temperature geothermal fields for electrical and thermal-water production (combined heat and power), as well as designing power plants that produce electricity utilizing low-temperature fields via binary cycle. Recent projects include the development and construction of the world’s first geothermal power plant utilizing Kalina technology.

Mannvit has wide-ranging knowledge, experience and expertise in the development of large and small hydropower plants, as well as the construction and maintenance of overhead transmission lines, substations and transformer stations.

Our experienced consultants, engineers and other specialists are now operating on a global scale, applying their talents to projects all over the world including, China, Greenland, Hungary, El Salvador as well as continuing development here in Iceland.
