Masters in Project Management Students visit Mannvit
Students enrolled in the Masters program for Project Management (MPM) at the University of Iceland visited Mannvit to learn about the company. The MPM program been taught as a part of the engineering program at the university over the last few semesters and visiting Mannvit is a part of the course were they can see project management in action.
Tryggvi Jónsson, Manager of Infrastructure, Utilities and Environmental, introduced Mannvit to the students and showed how the quality control system works and is integrated into the daily routine of the project manager. Óðinn Albertsson and Helgi Gunnar Viginsson, both of whom graduated from the MPM program last spring, presented on a new project management system that Mannvit has been developing over the last few months. Einar Ragnarson, Manager of Construction and Research, gave an overview on what project managers need to keep in mind when it comes to environmental and safety concerns, especially during the planning or the development phase of a project. Finally, Kristinn Eiríksson, a project manager for Mannvit shared how his MPM education has helped him while working on the Kárahnjúka project.
