Mannvit’s CEO Named Iceland's 2011 Business Man of the Year

It was announced on the 29th of December 2011 that the CEO of Mannvit, Dr. Eyjólfur Árni Rafnsson, has been selected as Iceland's Business Man of the Year by the business magazine Frjáls Verslun (Free trade).  The formal award was presented by the Minister for Education, Science and Culture at an afternoon ceremony in Reykjavik, hosted by the Frjáls Verslun magazine.

The selection was based on a review of Mannvit's Annual Reports which indicate the remarkable financial results and growth that Mannvit has shown in recent years.  Considering the economic slowdown that Iceland and many other countries were faced with after 2008, the selection committee was impressed with Mannvit’s accomplishment.  Further, Dr. Rafnsson was awarded with this recognition for his skillfull business development, management, and collaboration skills, which helped to make Mannvit the outstanding company that it is, and the largest in its field of engineering consultancy in Iceland.

The latest edition of Frjáls Verslun, contains an extensive interview with Eyjólfur Árni as well as a comprehensive and positive overview of Mannvit and it’s operations.

After the merger four years ago of three prominent and well established Engineering Companies in Iceland, Mannvit is now a large company in the Icelandic business community.  Company operations are going well, especially in the fields of renewable energy and power intensive industries.  The total number of staff in Iceland and abroad exceeds 400.

Our profession of consulting engineering is in fact generally rather low profile in the business community and therefore it is a particular honor that the CEO of Mannvit has received this recognition; the first of it’s kind in our field of trade in Iceland.

Mannvit would like to take this opportunity to wish all it’s customers and partners a pleasant and prosperous 2012.
